Today I want to share a new addition to the Minueto Scores catalog: a transcription of one of the most sublime, universal, and inspiring melodies of the Baroque era: the famous "Air" from the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068 by the master Johann Sebastian Bach.

About the piece and this adaptation
This piece stands out for its moving melodic line floating over an iconic walking bass (basso continuo).
In this version, I have adapted the main melodic voice for alto recorder, supported by a piano accompaniment that synthesizes both the staccato basso continuo and the contrapuntal harmonic texture:
Key: D Major (4/4, Grave / Cantabile). Instrumentation: Alto Recorder + Piano. Range & Tessitura: The adaptation explores the medium-high register of the instrument, offering a noble, warm timbre with great sound projection. Technical & Interpretive Focus: It requires thorough control of the air column to sustain legato passages and held notes (dolce con molto espressivo), as well as precision and delicacy in executing Baroque ornamentation (trills with terminations and appoggiaturas).

Sobre la obra y esta adaptación
Esta pieza destaca por su conmovedora línea melódica flotante sobre un icónico bajo caminante (walking bass).
En esta versión, he adaptado la voz melódica principal para flauta dulce contralto (alto recorder), respaldada por un acompañamiento de piano que sintetiza tanto el bajo continuo en staccato como el tejido armónico contrapuntístico:
Tonalidad: Re Mayor (4/4, Grave / Cantabile). Instrumentación: Flauta dulce contralto + Piano. Registro y Tesitura: La adaptación explota la zona media-alta del instrumento, ofreciendo un timbre noble, cálido y de gran proyección sonora. Enfoque técnico e interpretativo: Demanda un exhaustivo control de la columna de aire para sostener los pasajes legato y las notas tenidas (dolce con molto espressivo), así como precisión y delicadeza en la ejecución de la ornamentación barroca (trinos con resolución y apoyaturas).
