Petrie was my 57th different parkrun location in late 2020, again it was just after things restarted after covid. We were practicing social distancing standing a metre apart during the first timer brief. We were trying to keep a low profile as we were about 50 kilometres from home and we had some weird travel restrictions in place. Covid was a weird time I remember this guy sort of having his 21st birthday at parkrun, I suppose it was hard to have any sort of official gathering.
Petrie is another one of those places on the north side of Brisbane that got established during the Gympie gold rush in the 1800s. It was Tom Petrie's farm on the north pine river. The gold rush turned it into a Cobb and Co horse changing place. Of course it was Yugarabul Aboriginal country for a long time before that. Nowadays the medium house price is very close to one million Aud.
No Cobb and Co stagecoach horses aloud at parkrun but one might be handy at times. The course was a concrete path 2.5 kilometres along the river and back. I thought it was going to be a super-fast but it is fairly undulating, lots of rolling hills.

My parkrun times seem to slow after covid. 42 m of elevation gain over 5 kilometres is not that much. We have only done the one time, it would be a good one to try and get a faster time.
