Money corrupts.

We all knew that Infantino is corrupt and the world cup in America only proved it more than ever.
While the games themselves went well and the fans created a great competition there was a running theme behind the scenes of money and gouging the fans. Hand in hand with Trump he sold out football on the world stage and took people for every cent that they had to spare.
This is not what football is meant to be and not what it used to be. It used to be the game of the common people with local people supporting clubs but you can smell the money and the corruption that has been steadily creeping in as the game generates more funds, people are being paid more across the board and the greed is tangible.
They tried and failed to set up an elite league bypassing all the existing leagues to try and cut out the smaller teams from the action while on the other hand added more teams to the champions league and world cup to have more games and more money.
More money to the biggest clubs and the biggest players who are already on crazy numbers. Money from the fans pockets that they have already raided time and time again.
If i lived near a big team and had kids i don't think that i could afford to follow my local club.
Now we have the latest debacle where they have been trying to skim more money from the world cup into the private sector and some questionable people at that.
>The scrapped FIFA plan, known internally as "FIFA Forward Enterprise," was a highly controversial proposal by President Gianni Infantino to sell up to a 30% stake in the commercial rights of the FIFA World Cup to private equity investors. The deal, which was backed financially by a consortium led by American investor Joshua Kushner, aimed to raise $20 billion (£15 billion). To secure the necessary votes, Infantino reportedly offered a $40 million to $45 million payout to each of FIFA's 211 member associations. The plan collapsed entirely due to a historic, unified revolt from major football confederations, players, and internal FIFA staff. [Ref: BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport)
It's crazy that they thought this would work and rush though such massive deal with no warning, consultation or agreement. It's a very Trump like move but the president of FIFA is not the same role as the president of Aerica.
It will be interesting to see more details of where the money was going to go now that it has failed and powerful people are in uproar over the whole situation.
We have to think that Infantino was in for a massive payday behind the scenes or why else would he back such a crazy plan??
Money will tear the game apart if it is allowed to and people who matter need to stand up now and get things back on track before it's too late.
