Travel Journal: Las Vegas (USA) – Arriving in Sin City

In June, I spent a short week in Las Vegas. I was actually lucky enough to win the trip, so both my flights and hotel stay were completely free. I traveled with a group organized by German Poker Tours, flying nonstop from Frankfurt to Sin City.
Before departure, we fueled up in the Lufthansa Lounge.
The flight itself was long—around 12 hours—and, to be honest, the food was pretty terrible. But that's a minor detail once you finally arrive in Las Vegas. We stayed right on the Strip at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. I shared my room with another traveler from the group. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.

After checking in, we headed out for our first walk along the Strip. It already looked amazing during the day, but once the sun went down, it became even more spectacular. Here are some of my first impressions inside Paris:

The journey had been exhausting, so I didn't do much else after arriving. I stopped by Secret Pizza inside the Cosmopolitan for a quick dinner. I can definitely recommend the pizza—but finding the place is part of the experience. As the name suggests, it's actually pretty well hidden and there are no obvious signs pointing you there. The best strategy is simply to follow the people walking around with pizza boxes until you find it!

After that, it was time to call it a night and get some sleep.
In my next post, I'll tell you all about the following two days of the trip.
Stay tuned!
