Lands of a forgotten village

Elbette, İngilizce çevirisi:

When they left the frozen land behind, a completely different landscape opened before Kael and Lira. The lands stretching toward the west were neither covered in snow nor shrouded in mist. Instead, vast plains of golden grass and stone structures stretched as far as the horizon. These structures seemed to have been built thousands of years ago, yet they still remained standing.

Kael looked around in admiration.

“Once, a great civilization must have lived here.”

Lira opened her book, and its pages began turning on their own.

“Yes… The prophecy calls this place The Lands of the Forgotten People. They were the first guardians of the crystals. But one day, they were swallowed by silence.”

As they continued along the path, the carvings on the stone pillars caught their attention. The figures depicted people standing beside crystals. Some carried the light, while others fought against the darkness.

Kael pointed to one of the carvings.

“Look. This figure is dividing the crystal into two. One for the light, and one for the darkness.”

Lira nodded.

“This is where Varzoth was born. The people divided the crystal, and in doing so, they prepared their own destruction.”

At that moment, a voice rose from among the ancient stones. It was deep, yet gentle.

“Strangers… why do you walk upon our sacred lands?”

Kael and Lira were startled. Before them appeared a tall woman with bronze skin. She wore ancient yet majestic armor, and her eyes shone with both wisdom and fury.

“I am Serenya,” the woman said. “The last guardian of the Forgotten People. Anyone who sets foot upon these lands must reveal their intentions.”

Kael raised a fragment of crystal.

“We are the travelers of the prophecy. We have come to find the fragments of the crystal. We want to restore the light to this world.”

Serenya narrowed her eyes.

“The light? The light destroyed my people. Will you repeat the same mistake?”

Lira stepped forward.

“No. We have come to restore balance to the light. Varzoth’s darkness is growing. If we do not gather the fragments, it will destroy us all.”

Serenya remained silent for a moment. Then she drove her sword into the ground.

“Then I must put you to the test. The memory of my people is not given easily. A fragment of the crystal is hidden within these lands. But before you can claim it, you must first earn the trust of my people.”

Kael frowned.

“And how are we supposed to do that?”

Serenya smiled.

“When night falls, the spirits of my people will appear. You must face them. If they accept you, you will be able to find the crystal. But if they reject you… you will be lost in these lands forever.”

The wind suddenly grew stronger. The sky darkened, and shadows began to appear on the horizon.

Kael and Lira looked at each other.

Their journey would no longer be only against Varzoth, but also against the spirits of the past.
