Hello everyone in the community!
How interesting the topic brought to us by this initiative from @damarysvibra is. Reading the reflection on Biodanza and the distinction between Earth and Water made me look inward and immediately recognize myself in one of those extremes.
The most ironic thing of all is that, if we look at my birth chart, my zodiac sign is Pisces—pure water through and through—and my ascendant is Leo, which is pure fire. One would think that with that combination I should be a mix of fluidity, passion, and adaptation. However, in practice and in my day-to-day life, reality is quite different.
If you ask me which element I usually act from when it comes to working or taking on commitments, I don't hesitate for a second: in the realm of action and responsibility, I turn into pure, unadulterated Earth, often taken to the extreme. When I am assigned a task, a work project, or a project of any kind, an automatic mechanism of extremely high demand turns on inside me. I put on the armor of perfection and push myself beyond my own limits.
For me, the process is usually accompanied by that feeling that things have to turn out impeccable, al pelo (flawless), colloquially speaking. It doesn't matter if I have to sacrifice hours of sleep, if physical fatigue starts taking its toll, or if my mind is screaming at me for a breather; in my head, the goal has to be reached in the best possible way and, furthermore, I like to deliver everything before the deadline just to calm that internal urge for control.

When reading about how earth without water becomes a compact, dry, and rigid block that easily cracks, I felt like they were describing me. That crushing demand with which I often conduct myself is exactly what exhausts me before crossing the finish line. I turn into a barren terrain that doesn't allow itself to make mistakes, that doesn't contemplate rest as part of the process, and that pushes with unnecessary force, believing that if I loosen up a bit, everything will collapse.
That is why I am very clear that what I urgently need to integrate and learn is, ironically, the true energy of Water (the kind that sometimes stays only on paper in my zodiac sign). I need to incorporate that ease, patience, and adaptive flexibility that flowing teaches us.
I understand that firmness doesn't have to be synonymous with harshness toward oneself, and that learning to rest doesn't make me any less responsible or capable. I am working on that. The thing is that sometimes, when I am close to the finish line, something happens that makes me take a step back. They are deeply rooted habits, I admit it.
This space leaves me with a huge alarm: I need to remind myself that not everything is solved by gritting my teeth and running against the clock. Sometimes, true bravery lies in allowing ourselves to be a river, trusting the current, and understanding that perfection is not worth it if we leave our health and peace along the way.
Thank you for opening this door to introspection.
