I have always been a structured person. I like mapping out my route, knowing where I am going, and feeling like I have control over the pieces of my life. Having a structure gives me order, brings me calm, and helps me understand that there is a real connection between what I do today and my goals for tomorrow.

However, life has a very peculiar way of dynamiting maps when you least expect it. Along the way, I have made mistakes by being impulsive (making decisions without thinking much about the consequences) and many other unforeseen turns have completely slipped out of my hands, making everything I built crumble before me like a fragile house of cards.

And I am not going to lie: when that happens, the experience is far from that romantic narrative of a "valuable lesson in resilience." Most of the time, it feels like pure frustration, a heavy anxiety in my chest, and a mental and emotional exhaustion that drags me straight to bed.

There are days when the body and mind just want to cry, shut off the world, and do nothing curling up under the sheets because all the previous effort seems to have been for nothing. Uncertainty, when it hits hard, disorients and exhausts.

The hard part isn't accepting that things change in theory, but experiencing it firsthand when your personal plans fall apart. It is like the domino effect, you know. Sometimes, no matter how hard I try to redraw the course, I feel like the scenery changes so fast that I no longer even know how to plan.

However, despite the times I have lost momentum and the will to keep going, somehow you end up getting back up. Not because it is easy or because a sudden epiphany strikes, but because staying down is not a real option either. Today, I understand that my need to plan is still part of my essence, but I have had to learn the hard way to leave room for chaos.

I have learned that it is okay to break a little, to validate our exhaustion, and to give ourselves permission to feel frustration without forcing ourselves to be strong all the time. In the end, it is about understanding that even if the house of cards collapses, one way or another you always end up finding a way to start over, building something different with what is left.
