My First Drawing After Many Years

Assalam o Alaikum everyone. How are you all? I hope you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah I am also perfectly fine. Today I want to share something a little different with you all. I have always loved art and drawing. When I was a child I used to draw a lot. I really enjoyed making different drawings and trying new things. I was also lucky enough to win a special prize for drawing at school. So drawing was actually one of my favorite hobbies when I was young. But as I grew older I slowly stopped drawing. Life became busy and I started focusing on other things. I completely left drawing and art behind. I did not even think that one day I would feel the same excitement about drawing again. But recently I suddenly got interested in drawing again. I felt like I wanted to pick up my pencils and start making beautiful things just like I used to do when I was a child. So after many years I decided to give it another try. Today I am sharing my first drawing with you after so many years. You can see it in my post. I would really love to know what you think about it. I actually saw this cute picture on Pinterest and I really liked it. When I looked at it I thought maybe I could also try to draw something similar. So I decided to take a chance and make my own version of it. I also took some pictures while making it so I could share the whole process with you. First I started with the head of the penguin. Yes this is a cute little penguin. I first made a very light drawing with a pencil. I did not press the pencil too hard because I wanted the lines to be easy to change if I made a mistake.
After making the head I started drawing the outline of its arms and body. Then I slowly worked on the inside details. I tried to give the face the right shape and also worked on the shape of the body. I wanted to make the penguin look cute and playful. So I made one eye open and the other eye closed. It looks as if the penguin is giving a little wink. I thought this would make the drawing look even more adorable.
The penguin is also holding a very cute flower in its hand. First I drew the small stem and branches and then I added the flower. I really enjoyed making this little detail because it made the whole drawing look more beautiful. Once the body was complete I drew the feet. After finishing the pencil drawing I started working on the outlines. I personally really like drawings that have clear and beautiful outlines. So I decided to use markers for the outlines. I used a black marker for most of the drawing. For the feet I used a yellow marker because I wanted them to look bright and cheerful.
After completing all the outlines it was finally time for my favorite part which was coloring. Since penguins have a black body I colored the back and body black. I also colored the eyes black. I tried to color carefully so that the drawing would look neat and clean. In the original picture I saw on Pinterest the flower was white. But I personally really love red flowers so I decided to make my flower red instead. I think the red color looks really pretty with the black and white penguin.
At the end I added a little blush to the penguin's cheeks using colored pencils. This small detail made such a big difference. It made the penguin look even cuter and more adorable. And that is how my little penguin drawing was completed after many years. I know it is not perfect but I am really happy that I started drawing again. Sometimes we leave the things we love because of our busy lives but it is never too late to start again. Even after many years we can always go back to our old hobbies and enjoy them once again.
