Amidst the cracks, stains, and slowly fading paint of the wall, something caught my eye. I approached the spot with slow, deliberate steps. Upon arriving, I was astonished by the creature that had drawn my attention. I witnessed a small scene one that might seem ordinary to most people, a Menemerus bivittatus spider carrying home a delicious meal. It had successfully captured a moth with a body that looked incredibly soft. There was no struggle, nor was there a sound from the moth. I watched as the spider continued to carry its catch, moving at a very slow pace. I snapped a photo while it was on the move.
The Menemerus bivittatus is a spider frequently found around buildings, particularly on exposed walls like the one where I encountered this specimen. Such walls often serve as resting spots for various small insects. This spider does not rely on a web to catch its prey, instead, it hunts by observing from a distance and slowly closing in. Once close enough, it pounces to capture its target.
