Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.

Alright, time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight!

Today I'm checking out a card that honestly made me laugh a little when I first saw it.

It's not some huge legendary monster.

It's not covered in crazy abilities.

It's literally a little calf.

It's name is, Stampeding Calf.

And somehow this little guy can actually be pretty useful in the right battle.

Stampeding Calf is a Common Water unit, and at max level 10 it has 3 abilities:

Charge – Can use melee attacks from any position.

Weaken – -1 max health to all enemy units.

Deflect – Takes 0 damage from Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire and Blast splash damage.

So yeah, the card looks cute.

But it can actually cause some problems for the opponent.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 =================================

The first thing that caught my attention was the 3 mana cost.

That's pretty cheap.

And when I see a low-mana card like this, I immediately start thinking about where I can squeeze it into a lineup.

Stampeding Calf isn't necessarily a card that you're going to build your entire team around.

Instead, I see it more as a flexible little unit that can bring some useful abilities without taking up much mana.

And the more I looked at the abilities, the more interesting it became.

Especially Charge.

Because Charge basically removes one of the biggest limitations of melee attackers.

Normally, melee units have to be in the first position or have something like Reach to attack from further back.

But Stampeding Calf?

It can attack from anywhere.

That makes it much more flexible.

Charge: Can use melee attacks from any position.

Let's start with Charge.

Charge allows Stampeding Calf to use its melee attack from any position.

And honestly, I really like this ability on a cheap unit.

It means the Calf doesn't necessarily need to be sitting at the front of your team.

You can put it somewhere else and it can still contribute damage.

This becomes especially useful when your frontline is already occupied by a tank and you still want to add another melee attacker.

Instead of having a useless melee unit sitting in the back waiting for its turn, Stampeding Calf can actually attack.

That's a pretty nice little advantage.

𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟐: 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 ===============================

Weaken: -1 max health to all enemy units.

Now this is probably the ability that makes Stampeding Calf more interesting than its mana cost suggests.

Weaken reduces the maximum health of ALL enemy units by 1.

Notice the word ALL.

That's important.

This isn't just affecting one target.

The entire enemy team gets their max health reduced.

And when you're playing a battle where several enemy units have low health, that can actually matter quite a bit.

For example, imagine the opponent has several units sitting around 3 or 4 health.

Reducing their maximum health by 1 might not look like much, but suddenly those units are much closer to being taken out.

And because Weaken affects the whole enemy team, you're getting value from the ability immediately.

I always like abilities that do something before the actual attacks even start.
