Torch Vizier: This 5 Mana Fire Unit Hits Where It Hurts!

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.

Alright, time for another #Splinterlands card spotlight!

Today I'm looking at a card from the Fire Splinter that I think can be pretty nasty when used in the right lineup.

The card is, Torch Vizier.

Torch Vizier is a Rare Fire unit, and at Level 8, which is the max level, it has 2 abilities that give it a pretty interesting role.

Here are the stats:

Mana Cost: 5

Melee Attack: 5

Health: 7

Speed: 4

Armor: 0

And the abilities are:

Opportunity – Targets the enemy unit with the least health.

Deflect – Takes 0 damage from Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire, and Blast splash damage.

At first glance, those stats already look pretty good for only 5 mana.

But when you combine the 5 melee attack with Opportunity, that's where things get interesting.

First Impressions =================

The first thing that caught my attention was the 5 melee attack.

For a 5 mana unit, that's a pretty respectable amount of damage.

Obviously, Torch Vizier isn't some massive tank.

It has 7 health and zero armor, so I definitely wouldn't want it standing there and taking hits all battle.

But that's not really what this card is about.

The ability Opportunity means Torch Vizier automatically targets the enemy unit with the least health.

And honestly, I really like this kind of ability.

Instead of just hitting whatever is in front...

Torch Vizier can go after weaker enemies.

Sometimes that's exactly what you need to start removing units from the enemy team.

Ability 1: Opportunity ======================

Opportunity: Targets the enemy unit with the least health.

Let's say your opponent has a frontline tank with a lot of health.

Behind that tank, they have a couple of weaker units sitting around with only a few health points.

Normally, your attacks might keep hitting the tank.

And the tank just keeps surviving.

But with Opportunity?

Torch Vizier looks for the enemy with the least health.

So it can start picking off those weaker units.

And once one of them is gone, there's one less attacker or support unit for your opponent.

This can make a big difference.

Sometimes removing one small support unit is more important than dealing extra damage to the main tank.

Ability 2: Deflect ==================

Deflect: 0 damage from Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire, and Blast splash damage.

Now we get to the second ability.

Deflect.

This ability protects Torch Vizier from certain forms of reflected or splash damage.

According to the ability, Torch Vizier takes 0 damage from:

Corrosive Ward

Magic Reflect

Thorns

Return Fire

Blast splash damage
