Martin Luther, German priest and theologian, who initiated the Protestant Reformation called John 3:16 “The Bible in miniature.” This passage beautifully captures the magnitude, depth and generosity of God’s sacrificial love.
Let’s look into this love and what it reveals: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be redeemed.”
The magnitude and magnificence of God’s passion for humanity is seen in the giving of His only begotten Son. It was a free and unmerited gift, the highest expression of love anyone can imagine.
