When God is on your side, no matter the challenges or battles you face, you will always emerge out victorious. David’s story is living evidence of that. As he encountered Goliath, he stood firm in faith, trusting in the name of the Lord.
>1 Samuel 17 (41) Goliath walked out toward David with his shield bearer ahead of him, sneering in contempt (42) ‘Am I a dog,’ he roared at David, ‘that you come at me with a stick? (43) And he cursed David by the names of his gods
This passage contrasts two forces: One man who trusted in Jehovah El-Shaddai, the Almighty and living God and a nation that trusted in lifeless idols. Just as it was true for people of the likes of David, so it is true for nations: The destiny of any people is dependent on the God they serve.
