The Beautiful Accident of Friendship

Hola, everyone. Ruffa here, writing from wherever my thoughts take me.
It’s been a while since I last posted on Hive. Life got busy, my schedule became hectic, and somehow, the days started passing by faster than I could keep up with. And just when I thought I could finally breathe after weeks of being buried in responsibilities, life decided to drag me right back into the trenches.
But since I’ve finally found a little room to breathe, I thought I’d take this moment to write about something close to my heart: friendship.
More specifically, about the people I never expected to become part of my story.
Recently, I found myself surrounded by a new social circle: people who are spiritually mature, experienced, and somehow became the kind of friends I never knew I needed. They are the gems I never saw coming, and perhaps that is what makes them even more special. Anyone who knows me knows that I treasure friendships deeply. I have always loved keeping little records of the people who cross my path especially the conversations, the silly moments, the memories, and even the smallest details that might otherwise be forgotten.
Funny enough, I wasn’t always like this.
When I was younger, I used to see friendship almost like a temporary chapter. You meet someone, spend some time together, make a few memories, and eventually move on. I thought that was simply how it worked. But growing older has taught me otherwise. Friendship is more than simply having someone around. It requires allowing yourself to believe in someone you happened to meet on an ordinary day. It means opening a little part of yourself to a person who, at first, was nothing more than a stranger. And maybe that is what makes friendship beautiful.
Some people prefer being alone, and honestly, I understand that. We all have our own reasons, and every reason is valid. But as someone who genuinely loves having people around, I could never look at the memories I make with others as something ordinary.
Because if we really think about it, so much of our lives are spent with other people. We laugh with them, we learn from them, and we grow beside them. Sometimes, without even realizing it, they become part of the stories we will remember years from now. And I cherish that.
I never imagined that some of the random people I happened to meet along the way would eventually become my diary’s favorite characters. There is something incredibly fulfilling about knowing that your life is surrounded by people you genuinely enjoy being with. People who make ordinary days feel a little lighter and people whose presence reminds you that you don't always have to walk through life alone.
I’m not particularly choosy when it comes to friendships, but I do find myself drawn to people who have more experience and maturity than I do. Perhaps because I want to keep growing. I want to learn from people who have already walked through seasons I have yet to experience. I want friendships that don't just give me memories, but also help me become a better version of myself.
And I am especially grateful that, somehow, these people make me feel loved in return. And that feeling is something I don't take for granted.
So, to anyone who feels like they haven't been blessed with the kind of friendship they've always hoped for, please don't lose hope. Maybe your people haven't found you yet.
And perhaps one day, on an ordinary day when you least expect it, you'll meet someone who becomes a beautiful part of your story. Someone you'll laugh with, learn from, grow with, and eventually look back on with gratitude. Until then, keep your heart open. Because sometimes, the people who become the most meaningful chapters of our lives are the ones we never planned to meet.
And when you finally find them, I hope you get to spend many beautiful moments with people who don't just know you, but genuinely treasure you.
Thank you for reading, beloved readers. Until another story finds its way onto these pages.
> "Some people enter our lives randomly, but that doesn't mean their place in our story is accidental."
