The People Who Made Our World Bigger

Have you ever been in a situation where your friendship isn't LDR, but there are times when life just pulls you away from each other? Cuz, I have been in that situation.
Story time:
There's this lovely and kind couple whom we only knew by name before. Basically, we were just strangers who happened to know their names. The husband is Filipino and the wife is pure Korean. But one time, the stars aligned for us, and they became our friends.
Our family is the type who isn't really outgoing. We're more focused on work and our own responsibilities, and we rarely go out just to have fun. I guess that's one thing we lacked as a family. But don't get me wrong, we're close to each other, it's just that all of us in the family are homebodies.
The Filipino husband I am talking about is the one wearing blue on the right side. And my father is the one wearing green. The teenager you can see in the picture is my younger brother and the one wearing blue on the left side is my father's other friend. They are TRIO. People often call them "The Big Three".
When this couple (the Filipino husband and his Korean wife) became our friends, everything changed. The friendship grew rapidly, and they became really, really close with my parents. They also became like our second parents. They love to travel, and ever since they came into our lives, they would always take us somewhere. In a way, they taught us that there's more to life than just working and staying at home. Sometimes, we really do need to give ourselves a break.
One of the reasons I consider them my second parents is because they always buy us gifts and things, invite us to dinner, take us on expensive picnics, and more. By the way, they're wealthy. They own a hotel, an expensive restaurant, and a restobar, which made me admire them even more because I never thought that people like them could be that friendly and down-to-earth.
It's pretty obvious which of them is Korean, right? haha. My mom is the one wearing green. And the one with eyeglasses on is the wife of the man wearing blue on the left side in the first picture. They are TRIO as well. The Big Three's wives.
The Korean wife is a dual citizen of Korea and the Philippines, so they would often go back to Korea to check on her parents there.
Before them, we were always left out in a group. Yes, we had friends before them, but our family was always the one that felt outcasted. But after they came into our lives, they would always include us in their group and treat us like their own family. They would cook us Korean food, teach us so many things, and just make us feel welcome. And honestly, it was through them that I saw my parents laugh so genuinely with other people. I don't know how to explain it, but seeing them enjoy themselves like that made me really happy. And I am so grateful to have them.

Now, as usual, they went back to Korea. But this time, it was longer because they had some important and personal things to process. Usually, they would only spend a few weeks in Korea before coming back to the Philippines. But this time, it's been so many months since I last saw them because they're still there.
Although we still contact each other, I still miss them. I know it's only been four months since they left, but the void we feel is so obvious.
And because they're aware that without them, we might become lonely again, they would always remind us online not to outcast or isolate ourselves from others. They would always check on us, and they always promise that when they come back to the Philippines, they would take us somewhere again.

I love them so much, and I miss them. They're the closest friends we've ever had, and I genuinely feel like they're gifts from heaven. I hope that before this year ends, I get to bond with them again. And by that time, I would surely tell you all what happened.
