There’s an important biblical truth called “The Principle of Capacity.” God expects that you to give and serve within the capacity He has endowed on you. When God gives an assignment, He also supplies the grace and ability to carry it out. He does not ask you to give what is out of your reach; He only asks you to give faithfully from what you do have [Romans 12: 3 – 8].
This principle is not a justification for laziness or complacency but a reminder that God judges us by our faithfulness, not by comparison with others. Your responsibility is to do your best with the grace and resources you’ve been given. When you bless others, you make open the door for God’s favour to flow into your life.
In the parable of the talents [Matthew 25: 14 – 30], the master was glad and happy with the servants who used their gifts productively. The only one who faced punishment was the servant who did nothing with what he had been given. Likewise, when we withhold from giving of our time, talents or resources, we close the door to the flow of divine multiplication.
Remember, serving God does not have to do with how much you have but how willing your heart is.
