It is no secret that God endowed us with abundant natural resources and exceptional human capital. Yet, even with all these blessings, we are plagued by corruption and widespread poverty. Why? Because there are spiritual forces of darkness that have vowed to keep God’s people bound, forces resisting God’s purpose for our land.
This calls for intense prayer and fasting, centred not on selfish interests but on what truly matters: That every chain restraining us and holding our us captive be broken and that Jesus Christ be enthroned as Lord.
Just like David, we believers have the spiritual authority to intercede, to stand before God and ask Him to move us forward in righteousness and justice. But this comes with a price. Are we willing to pay the cost it will require? Are we ready to act according to God’s will?
Sadly, the body of Christ today is not united. While some believers are praying for God’s redemptive purpose, others are praying against it, driven by political, ethnic or personal gains. But we serve a faithful God who answers only prayers that are in accordance with His divine will, even if just one person stands in the gap.
