Believers are bound to go along persecution and trials of life, but with the Holy Spirit, we have a survival strategy. The Holy Spirit plays a role in decision making in every matter that pertains in the path of a Believer. This was not emotional impulse or human making; it was spirit-directed separation. There was the period the church was undergoing persecution, but in the midst of their circumstances the Holy Spirit had something to say to them. We also may hear what God is relaying to us when we are going through one manner of persecution or the other. It is left for us to be spiritually attentive so that we can discern what The holy spirit is trying to pass across to us. The holy spirit still communicates to people today. He guides, He warns, He instructs, and He sets us apart. When He speaks, obedience saves us from years of regret, vain effort, and irrelevant pain.
