I’ve received several gifts this week. It’s not because it’s my birthday—that was months ago—but simply because the Universe is aligning that way, and it makes me happy. One of the gifts I received was a bottle of sparkling wine, courtesy of my cousin. I’m talking about Amor de Mar , a sparkling wine with an interesting turquoise-green hue (although some reviews describe it as blue, I see it as more green).

Y uno de los regalos que he recibido fue una botella de un vino espumoso, el cual vino de la mano de mi prima. Les hablo de Amor de Mar , un espumante de un interesante color verde turquesa, (aunque algunas reseñas dicen que es azul, yo lo veo más verde.
What struck me most about this bottle is its color. It is certainly unusual to see a green sparkling wine, which makes it very interesting. Its presentation is also lovely—simple yet attractive—and evokes the sea; the label features a starfish and identifies it as a premium sparkling wine and a blue Moscato. It is worth noting that Moscato wines are made from the Moscatel grape variety; while they are typically white or rosé, they can also be green or blue, depending on the pigments added.
> Lo que más me llamó la atención de esta botella es su color. Sin duda alguna es algo raro ver un espumante verde, lo que le hace muy interesante. Además, su presentación es bonita, sencilla, pero bonita, alusiva precisamente al mar, pues en la etiqueta se puede ver una estrella de mar, con la identificación de que se trata de un espumante premium y que es un Moscato azul. Recordemos que los vinos Moscatos, se obtienen de la variedad de uva Moscatel, y que por lo general son vinos blancos o rosas, pero pueden ser verdes o azules, de acuerdo a los pigmentos que sean adicionados.
This wine comes from Spain—specifically from the city of Requena in Valencia—and is produced by Bodegas Murviedro, a winery with extensive experience in the industry. As far as I can tell, it is imported into the United States and then brought to Venezuela from there. Its presentation is quite good, featuring a protective covering at the top of the bottle and the cork itself with a protective cap.
> Este vino proviene de España, más específicamente de la ciudad de Requena, en Valencia, y es elaborado por las Bodegas Murviedro, las que tienen larga experiencia en la actividad vinícola. Según pude ver, es importado por Estados Unidos, y de allí lo traen a Venezuela. Su presentación es bastante buena, con una protección en la parte superior de la botella y su respectivo corcho con protector.
The alcohol content of this sparkling wine is 6% by volume, which is low and appropriate for this type of drink. Its color, as I mentioned, is a beautiful turquoise green, and the flavor is quite good—very fruity with what I would describe as floral notes. I drank it very cold, in a chilled glass, and really enjoyed it; my husband liked it even more, so we both enjoyed this wonderful gift, which made for a refreshing treat yesterday afternoon. Cheers!
> El grado alcohólico de este espumante es de 6% por volumen, lo cual es bajo y apropiado al tipo de bebida. Su color, como ya dije, es un hermoso verde turquesa, y su sabor es bastante bueno, se siente muy afrutado y yo diría que con notas de flores. Yo lo bebí muy frío, en una copa previamente enfriada, y me gustó mucho, aunque a mi esposo le gustó más, así que ambos disfrutamos de este estupendo regalo, el cual refrescó mi tarde de ayer.
