Desfrán – Day 126
Published on HivePostify by @solominer · Sat Jul 25 2026
Making our way through the summer it is now late July and these have grown into larger globe shaped cannabis plants. I got a picture next to one, and you can see how big they really are. These are the largest cannabis plants I have ever grown. So I am quite proud of them, so I figured I would spend some time taking care of them. Cleaning up the brush around them and trimming the bottom branches that are touching the ground at this point.

Clearing the brush went pretty easily, I have a saw blade mounted to my weed whacker. Using that I cleared most of what I could and hand pulled the rest.

The brush that grows up around the cannabis plants is wild fescue, along with some wild flowers that came up after adding seeds to the area. I used wildflower seeds as a cover crop between growing seasons for the cannabis. Which is only from May through November, the rest the area grows wild.

The bottom most branches really do not do the plant much good at this point. And when they start to form buds they will probably just fall over and touch the ground making them rot right away.

I am really happy caring for my plants, having the freedom to grow them feels so good. And giving them as much space as they need to grow is rewarding. But commonly cannot be done due to people having to keep stealthy grows. But for me I am free to let them get as big as I want as long as I follow my local laws.

With the bottoms all trimmed back air flow can get up into the dense foliage a little easier.

I left the top alone, soon they will start forming buds.. Soon as in maybe a month from now.. lol

Those stalks are huge, well over an inch in diameter now.

Hoping the best for them.

Another one of the stalks they all look a little different but all quite big.

The forth cannabis plant is really going through a trial of fire right now. It has been getting its ass kicked by the mud when it rains heavily. I should probably put some mulch around it so the leaves dont get splattered.

Having the trunks exposed should be good for the plants. I think this is the first time I have done this.

The holes have naturally sunk in a little bit, but not too much I would think.

Probably time to add some wood chips to all of them, luckily I have a pile ready to go right next to them.

After trimming, I have so many cuttings of cannabis. Wish I could start them as clones, but legally I am at my limit. So I must just leave them be and not turn them into more plants.

Realizing how big these plants have got. I am rethinking of how I will be planting them next year. I think I may remove those posts and grow them in a single file line. I have the space and they need more so maybe next year I will have a whole new setup for them.

But for now I let them keep growing, the rains recently have given them lots of water. But if we go too long without water I will give them some as well. Probably will be a good time to give them some liquid fertilizers. As what I put in the ground with them when plants is probably all used up at this point.
