My Hive witness update - 2026

Published on HivePostify by @solominer · Tue Jul 07 2026

Currently ranked 33 or 34 depending who you ask, I have been producing blocks for a few years now... or maybe just coming up on two years? I dont remember. I am running my witness locally on a Proxmox virtual server. I like this setup as I can make backups and better manage the resources of the VM more easily than migrating a bare metal server or adding more disk, or RAM.

I think it has been around a year since my last witness update. Honestly I went looking for my previous post so I could link it in this one. But I am unable to find it at the moment. In the last year I have risen in rank from around number 50, making blocks once every few hours. To now producing blocks usually within an hour or less.

So far I have gone through one hard fork as a witness. Around that time I went the virtualization route on my server. Setup went kinda iffy, I had issues with one of my firewall apps blocking the chain from being downloaded. Now changed it all downloaded and synced fine. Been stable ever since.

I have also changed my price feed from the Jolly Pirate feed to Brian of London's software. Works great now.

Currently I have 25.7 million in HP of votes of support for my witness. Thanks to everyone that has voted for my witness.

The total votes keep going up over all. Though I do see some slippage compared to the earlier part of the year in vote count, but the overall stake has increased regardless.. but not a big deal.. people change votes.

I am very proud of this chart above, nearly half of my votes come from non-whale accounts. Looking at other witnesseses voting data I can say this is not the case for many. So always remember a small vote still counts, even if its not a lot of HP. It shows in the charts for my witness.

And I am very thankful for my top supporters as well, I really appreciate each one of you trust me with producing blocks.

Another change I made was to my HBD APR. It is now set to zero. With the current state of Hive in regards to its trading price. I think reducing the APR to zero for HBD would help reduce the selling pressure. I should probably write a post on my thoughts on HBD and how an HBD-less Hive would look to me.

Changing my HBD yield as a witness has no impact on the actual yield as I am not in the top 20. But I figure I should at least signal my intentions.

If you have not voted for me yet, I would greatly appreciate if you considered supporting me. My witness server does not run in a data center, or even is on the power grid most of the time. It is powered by solar panels and battery arrays, only using on grid utility provided power when it has to. We also have generators supplying power during outages.

So by supporting me, you are supporting a more decentralized witness. A witness that has staked a lot of HP. And I just powered up another 80,000 HP in the last month alone.

Want the best for the blockchain, by signaling a more sustainable yield on HBD. Even if its not a very popular opinion. I think it would help reduce selling pressure.
