#diyhack: Removing sticker logos from branded t-shirt at home.

Often companies offer branded T-shirts and accessories to their employee. It was meant to build team unity, promote brand visibility, and boost employee morale. These items create a sense of belonging and make staff easily recognizable during events or in the workplace. Most of the time the accessories were of high quality. However the company branding on it may spoil its looks. These accessories comes up with printed company logo or sticker. Be it coffee mug or t-shirt or cap. Wearing or using them with their logo is a way to promote the organisation. Recently, I received one such T-shirt from a relative. The sports T-shirt has #addidas brand with good quality wearable stuff, However, the printed company logo on front making it not wearable. The reason I am not associated with the company and people may comes up with multiple question on seeing it on my body. So I took upon a challenge to remove them by my own
I checked the price of black t-shirt in #addidas showroom in India, and it was costly indeed. So I tried to remove the logo of my own so that to make it wearable in public. Manytimes, these t-shirt have printed logo. But on this particular t-shirt, the company used a Sticker. It appears to be a rubber sticker that was tightly pasted using some adhesive. So taking a chance is not an offense. If I try to scribble it with a sharp objects, it may destroy the cloth material. So I tried to remove it by steeming it with pressing (ironing).
It was not easy as it seems. As directly putting the hot iron over the sticker or cloth my burn it or spoil it further. So I made use of some water and an additional cloth. It was indirect application of hot iron on the sticker part to make it loose. Rubber generally gets loose or melt when hot material applied on it.
I sprinkled some water on the sticker portion and also used a wet cloth on top of it to iron the portion. By doing so, I avoided the direct contact of the heat on the sticker. This prevent from spoiling the t-shirt material. Water application allow steeming the portion.
I slowly keep on increasing the temperature. After a while I notice the sticker started melting. It can easily be scratched with my finger nails. I slowly start removing the sticker and in between keep ironing the portion to further melt the sticker. After doing the process for a while. I finally manage to remove the sticker.
A slight adhesive mark still left over the sticker, indicating the presence of sticker in that particular place. Now once the sticker was removed, I can easily directly apply the hot iron over the clothing material. I long pressed the iron over the sticker portion to remove the adhesive mark. And at the end, my experiment was successful. The T-shirt is now wearable in public. It was a quick experiment that I tried and and end result was much satisfactory.
