Description from Strava:

Whilst up in Scotland I wanted to log another parkrun. We were staying just outside Dundee that has a couple nearby. Unfortunately the nearer one was cancelled, so I drove across town to [Broughty Ferry](https://www.parkrun.org.uk/broughtyferryesplanade/). The course is right by the beach on the River Tay with the railway alongside. There is plenty of free parking on the road or a couple of small car parks. This was only the 11th event there.

I thought it was a bit quiet and the marshalls were still setting up the course. Then I checked and realised that it starts at 9:30, which is later than most events. I just had to hang around for a while and stay warmed up.

I chatted to a marshal and a lady who has just moved to the area and was running there for the first time. There were a lot there at the start, so I tried to judge where to stand.

When we set off i overtook a few as they spread out. The course follows the river to a caravan park. It is fairly flat. You turn around to head back towards the start. That was when we had to work against the wind. I was pretty quick with it behind me and did 2km in under 10 minutes, but could not maintain that. You have to go a way past the finish before turning again. I was so glad to have the wind behind me again.

My time was one of my best this year so I am happy. That is my 13th location and the 4th new one this year.

There did not seem to be any toilets nearby and they do go for drinks at a cafe somewhere in town where runners get a discount. I had to head off as we had other plans for the day.

Run free!
