The paths we take

Every day is a quiet intersection of the roads we didn't take and the paths we chose to walk. We spend a lifetime wondering what if, looking back at the sudden turns, the hesitation at the crossroads, and the moments where a single decision tilted the axis of our world. But the beauty of a journey isn't found in a flawless map; it’s found in the courage to keep moving forward, even when the fog rolls in, and the destination is entirely unknown.

When thinking about recent events and how a simple choice here and there we make in our lives can have such a big impact, lead to the into this post and the photos I will share today, which, to me all related to the title The Path We Take

These are all photos from fairly recent walks, mostly here in New Bedford, MA.

Starting with this photo, which shows the covered pergola walkway at Custom House Square (officially the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Plaza) in downtown, I often walk by it when I am downtown, but not so often take photos, as a few homeless people sleep there, and I do not want to disturb them. Not that I am worried they will bother me, I have had some of them call out good morning or ask what I am doing, but never in a bothersome way. But thinking of them and the circumstances and life choices which have brought them to having to sleep there was a factor in this post and my thoughts.

And these Belgian block streets and brick buildings built when New Bedford was the richest city inthe world is such a contrast.
