In 2001, Ron Paul called it exactly right.

In this clip from the Tom Woods Show, Tom breaks down how Dr. Paul warned on the House floor during the dot-com bust that the Fed couldn't leave well enough alone — instead of letting the crash play out, they would pump up a real estate bubble that was destined to crash.

That's exactly what happened. 2001 was the only recession on record where housing starts went UP, as Fed policy and federal housing policy inflated the bubble that burst in 2008.

Totally vindicated.
