Hello,Ladies of Hive Community!

Some colors bring back memories, some brighten our mood, while others give us a sense of comfort and peace. That’s why I’m especially excited to share my answer to this week’s question!

For #304 Contest in Ladies of Hive, @elizabethbit asked us:

“What is your favorite color? Describe how it makes you feel when you view it or are around it.”

My answer may be simple, but it's close to my heart. One color instantly makes me feel calm, refreshed, peaceful, and reminded that healing is always possible.

So, what color could possibly bring all these feelings to me? Let me share why this color is more than just my favorite—it is a little reminder of the kind of peace I always want in my life.

I always say green.

It might sound like a simple question, but for me, green is more than just a color. It feels like a gentle reminder of healing, calm, and peace. When I see green—trees, plants, grass, or mountains—I feel a calmness that’s hard to put into words. It’s like the world is telling me to slow down, take a breath, and trust that things will be okay.

Green has always meant a lot to me because it’s the color of nature. When I’m surrounded by trees and plants, I feel lighter right away. After dealing with daily worries and noise, seeing a wide stretch of green is comforting. Nature never rushes me. It just exists quietly and reminds me that life can be peaceful too.

To me, green stands for healing. Life isn’t always easy. Some days, I feel tired, overwhelmed, or unsure of myself. In those moments, being in nature comforts me. Watching green leaves move in the wind or seeing tree-covered mountains reminds me that healing takes time, just like a plant growing slowly.

Green helps me remember to be patient with myself.

A plant doesn’t grow strong overnight. It needs sunlight, water, soil, and time. I think I need the same—time, rest, love, faith, and kindness for myself. Some wounds don’t heal just by forgetting. Some things take time to accept. Green reminds me that growth can happen quietly, even when I don’t notice it.

Aside from healing, green gives me a sense of tranquility.A different kind of silence surrounds me in nature. It is not the kind of silence that feels empty. Instead, it feels full—full of life, fresh air, rustling leaves, birds singing, and the gentle movement of the wind. Whenever I get the chance to walk somewhere surrounded by trees or simply spend time looking at plants, my mind feels calmer.

Maybe that’s why I love green so much. It doesn’t need attention. It doesn’t need to be loud to be beautiful. It just exists, and that’s enough.

Green also helps me feel refreshed. Some days, life feels tiring and repetitive. Responsibilities add up, work gets overwhelming, and I just want to step away. Seeing green gives me a fresh start. It reminds me that each day is a new chance to begin again.

Even a simple view of green leaves can shift my mood. It feels like pressing a reset button in my mind. For a moment, I can forget. Even a quick glance at green leaves can change my mood. It’s like hitting a reset button in my mind. For a moment, I can forget my worries and focus on something simple and beautiful. Green reminds me that beautiful things still exist in life, waiting to be noticed.

Most of all, green means peace to me.For me, peace doesn’t mean a life without problems. I’ve learned that peace isn’t about having no difficulties. It’s about staying calm even when life is uncertain. It’s accepting that I can’t control everything and choosing to trust the process anyway. I don't have to have all the answers. I do not always have to be strong. Sometimes, I simply need to breathe and allow myself to rest.

Perhaps that is why green feels so personal to me. It reflects the kind of life and heart I want—one that keeps growing despite difficulties, stays gentle despite pain, and chooses peace despite the chaos around it.

Green is not simply my favorite color. It reminds me of the person I am becoming.

It reminds me to heal. It reminds me to grow. It reminds me to pause. It reminds me to breathe.

And most of all, it reminds me that after every difficult season, renewal is always possible.

So, if I am asked again what my favorite color is, I will still answer green without hesitation. Because when I see green, I do not just see a color. I see life. I see hope. I see healing. I feel refreshed. I feel calm. ---
