Pastel Painting of a Bird On A Tree Branch

I finally got to try out my new set of soft pastel chalks and pastel pencil. At first, I wasn’t quite sure what to paint as I felt drawing on a black paper was gonna be most appropriate for pastels than a normal paper, but after many contemplation, I decided to create this painting of a bird on a tree branch. I started by creating a sketch which is the outline of the bird on a branch, and then began drawing and shading with the pastwl pencils. I blended with a tissue paper and then added details using the pencils. I honestly feel more confident with pastels and and pencils and acrylic paints and would be creating more works in the coming days. I hope you like this.
