🇪🇸 Llevo un tiempo explorando opciones de páginas en internet con un ritmo o comunidad tranquila. Recuerdo las páginas web de inicios del 2000s y suspiro cuando encuentro algo que remotamente se acerque a la sensación o atmosfera que tenían esos sitios.
Últimamente exploro -también- ejemplos de decoración alusivo a la tecnología que teníamos en los 90s, de plano, estoy en busca de una estética analógica para próximos proyectos; se que la idea no es nueva, veo que en 2024/2025 estuvo de moda y vimos muchas cosas lindas de tendencia ecléctica, pero en esos años estuve tan ocupada que apenas tocaba la computadora.

Tengo esta sensación de querer rodearme de TVs viejos, de equipos de VHS o DVD, de empezar de nuevo a "quemar" mis propios compilados de CDs (soy una usuaria inconforme con los servicios de streaming, porque a mi sí me gusta tener descargadas las películas, documentales o series que me gustan, y me sucede lo mismo con la música).
No es que el mundo fuera mejor antes (?), pero para mí era mas divertido y a la vez mas simple, mas propio de cada quien, menos estresante, se sentía menos estéril. Es como la sensación que me da la decoración minimalista, es limpia y elegante pero tu casa minimalista no se diferencia de la casa minimalista del vecino, y ambas, no se diferencian de la casa minimalista de catalogo-exhibición.

Y lo digo como la fan del estilo minimalista que soy, parece que en una etapa de la vida cuando quieres orden o tu ritmo de vida necesita de espacios y cosas contadas y controladas -y hasta funcionales- el minimalismo es un gran aliado que te ayuda a respirar, es la respuesta que necesitas.
Pero cuando la rueda gira entonces volteamos a ver y considerar por ejemplo, el maximalismo nostálgico -ok eso me lo acabo de inventar, aunque según Google no- y eso tiene muchas ramificaciones (por ejemplo ahorita estoy enganchada con el maximalismo en "celestial decor" o "celestial core").

Hoy reflexiono sobre qué tanto de tu hogar ha sido escogido por ti, porque te gusta, y qué cosas has escogido preocupándote por lo que piensen otras personas. Temas como la higiene y la sanidad deben ser prioridad porque de ellas depende nuestra salud, y se que no todos tienen las circunstancias de poder escoger qué muebles o decoración quieren en sus espacios, la economía mundial esta revuelta y lamentablemente los que estamos con vida hoy somos generaciones experimentales de transición (lo que significa que en muchos temas de seguridad personal-financiera, estamos a la deriva).
Yo quisiera antes que termine el año permitirme escoger, sin importar si esta en tendencia o no, o si los demás piensan que es bonito o feo, quisiera rodearme de cosas que me gustan y he estado trabajando en eso, porque al menos en mi caso particular me gustan los objetos de segunda mano, sé que coincidirás conmigo por ejemplo, en que la calidad de los muebles de los 80s es muy superior a la calidad de los muebles hoy, que no soportan ni la caída de un vaso de agua.

Ahora pasando a la acción y después de leer algunos hilos en reddit para conocer la experiencia de otras personas, comencé a reunir algunos equipos para comenzar con un "setup analógico".
Mi meta es hacer una estación de tamaño medio con 2 televisores CTR, cada uno son su respectivo DVD y VHS; y debo llevar al técnico mi viejo SNES que recuerdo funcionaba pero daba imagen en blanco y negro.
Se que existen los emuladores pero no quiero hacer el trabajo de adaptar por ejemplo un pequeño pc (también quisiera un PS1 y una PS2, pero no es lo mas urgente).
Now, it’s time to take action. After reading a few threads on Reddit to learn about other people’s experiences, I started gathering some equipment to set up an “analog setup.”
My goal is to build a medium-sized setup with two CRT TVs, each with its own DVD and VHS player; and I need to take my old SNES to a technician—I remember it used to work, but the screen was in black and white.
I know emulators exist, but I don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up, say, a small PC (I’d also like a PS1 and a PS2, but that’s not the most urgent priority).

A la fecha de hoy ya tengo lo que creo más importante que es 2 TVs grandes, y por una graciosa coincidencia 4 DVDs.
También he estado revisando publicaciones en "Mercado Libre Venezuela" y me alegró mucho ver que hay bastantes personas vendiendo películas y series en DVD y VHS originales a precios razonables, aunque es difícil saber si serán 100% reproducibles, pero supongo que si comienzas tu biblioteca por este medio simplemente se trata de un salto de fé.
Espero volver pronto con una feliz actualización sobre este tema, hoy divago mucho porque hace demasiado calor y pasamos unas 7 horas sin electricidad hasta hace unos momentos, es muy agotador, pero quería sí o sí traer este tema 💙
As of today, I already have what I think is most important: two large TVs, and—by a funny coincidence—four DVDs.
I’ve also been checking out listings on “Mercado Libre Venezuela,” and I was really happy to see that there are quite a few people selling original movies and TV shows on DVD and VHS at reasonable prices. It’s hard to know if they’ll play 100% of the time, but I guess if you’re starting your collection this way, it’s just a leap of faith.
I hope to be back soon with a happy update on this topic. I’m rambling a lot today because it’s way too hot, and we went about 7 hours without electricity until just a few moments ago—it’s really exhausting—but I really wanted to bring this up no matter what 💙
