The Unknown Becomes Less Frightening To Hold

I stay with beginnings, because I have learned how easily I can suffocate something, living by demanding that it explain its future before I have cared for its present, I stay with beginnings, resisting the urge to turn every possibility into a decision when some things need nothing more from me than just your ultimate attention and time, I stay with beginnings, allowing the awkward, uncertain, almost-forgotten ideas to remain beside the polished ones without deciding which deserves to survive in your archive of poems, I stay with beginnings, can I care for something before I know whether it will ever become that important to me, beyond all the past ways I could have ended up sure with myself, I stay with beginnings, and the need for certainty loosens its hands, reminding me that the unknown is not asking me for an answer yet, only enough openness to let it take its first shape…
I keep collecting, even when my mind insists that I already have enough unfinished things and should be publishing instead of revising and inviting more and more, I keep collecting, because an idea does not become less valuable simply because I cannot yet see where it belongs in the life from what I am building day by day, I keep collecting, letting curiosity interrupt the practical voice that wants everything measured, categorized, justified, and immediately useful despite the past information was also deemed useful, I keep collecting, what might I have missed if I only allowed myself to notice what already made sense, as long as it resonates well to your future goals that you claim to build, I keep collecting, and the unknown becomes less frightening to hold, and I discover that what once felt like confusion can become possibility when I give it enough room to remain unfinished…
I resist choosing, when the choice is being made only because uncertainty makes me uncomfortable and I would rather close a door than stand between possibilities, I resist choosing, remembering that some decisions become clearer after I have gathered enough experiences to see them from more than one angle and still willing to let go, I resist choosing, because premature certainty can feel like progress while quietly removing the possibility of discovering something better despite its initial purpose, I resist choosing, am I choosing this because it is right or because I am tired of not knowing what might be possible cause effect of my decisions before hand, I resist choosing, and the pause gives me information I could not force, until I understand that some answers do not arrive because I chased them—they arrive because I finally became quiet enough to notice them…
I let things grow naturally, without hovering over every change or pulling at the roots simply to reassure myself that something is happening just beneath its surface, I let things grow naturally, trusting that attention does not have to mean constant interference and that care can sometimes look like leaving something undisturbed, I let things grow naturally, accepting that some ideas will disappear, some will transform, and a few may become almost unrecognizable from where they started, I let things grow naturally, can I remain present without transforming patience into another form of control that enables it to unravel the future?I let things grow naturally, and what is meant to continue begins revealing its own strength, until I understand that sometimes the best way to know what belongs in my life is to stop holding it together and see what chooses to remain along…
Watchwords: The need for certainty loosens its hands The unknown becomes less frightening to hold Premature certainty can feel like progress The pause gives me information What is meant to continue reveals itself
