Fan Porting Super Mario Galaxy to The Nintendo Game Boy Advance

File this one under “check it out before Nintendo shuts it down” as this is seriously cool. It is also very much something Nintendo will shut down in a heartbeat if they find out about it. A YouTube content creator is working on porting Super Mario Galaxy over to the Game Boy Advance – you know the handheld that was not great with 3D. Yeah, that one.

Very Much a Work In Progress

Before you run off thinking this is perfect and it is going to run amazingly. Take a few deep breaths. This is a work in progress, and it seriously shows that.

Please keep that in mind if you decide to head over to [Game of Tobi’s YouTube channel]( https://www.youtube.com/@GameofTobi) and leave comments on his work. He is a fan doing things fans with skills do, be kind and respectful. Please.

In his video, embedded below, we get a sneak peek at how this magic is even working. Some background on help he has received for this project and more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJFQTT8PLI What If

I do wonder sometimes if there is any way to create a Super FX chip style add-on for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance? That would be cool to see if possible. A boost in the 3D department would be awesome.

I know it is a pipe dream but imagination and having fun is what gaming is about, right?

It still amazes me what fans can achieve out of sheer interest and skill. I understand it helps not having a boss breathing down your neck or deadlines beating you over the head. I am not trying to knock the pros that worked on these platforms when they were commercially viable, nothing but respect all around.

What modern game would you enjoy seeing a demake of made? I am kind of interested in seeing how something like Halo would work on the Build Engine, or even the Quake engine myself.
