Honestly, I don't even know whether to be angry, disappointed or just tired at this point. 😩 As a Chelsea fan, seeing us lose to Arsenal again really hurts. And for a moment, I thought it was happening. Chelsea scored under the first three minutes, and I was already getting excited. 😂 I thought, “Yes! This is what I want to see. Let's finish what we started today.” That early goal showed something important to me: Chelsea can score against Arsenal. A team with the best defence in England. Our attack has the ability to cause problems, and I believe there is enough quality going forward to compete against the big teams. The problem, at least from my perspective, was more obvious in midfield and maybe defence as well. We simply looked short there. With Moises Caicedo unavailable, and Enxo left with no replacement. Reece James tried his best, and I will never question his commitment to Chelsea. But let's be honest, Reece is not a natural midfielder. When you are playing against an Arsenal side that has spent years developing under Arteta, you need a midfield that can compete physically, control possession and dictate the game. Even thought, I expect Barco to be in that midfield today against Arsenal but I don't think Alonso really trust him yet. And that is where I felt Chelsea struggled. At the same time, I'm not going to throw the whole team or Xabi Alonso under the bus because of this result. We have to be realistic. Arsenal have been building their team under Arteta for more than five years, while Chelsea are still at the beginning of another project under new coach playing his third game. These things take time. Of course, I'm still disappointed. Losing 2-1 to Arsenal is not something I want to celebrate. 😂 But I also saw enough positives to believe that this Chelsea team can become much better. For me, strengthening the midfield should be a priority. If we can bring in the right midfielder and perhaps another quality centre-back, I believe this team can become much more balanced. I'm still backing Xabi Alonso. I'm still backing Chelsea. And I'm definitely still hoping that one day soon, we will walk into an Arsenal game without that feeling of “here we go again.” 😂 They may have won this battle, but the season is still long.
