Sometimes, You Need to Step Back and Let Your Absence Speak

‎Hello Hives, ‎ ‎I have come to understand something about life that sometimes, no matter how much you do for people, it still won't be enough for them. ‎ ‎You can be there for someone when they need you. You can listen to their problems, check on them, help them when you can, and make sacrifices without even telling anyone about them.

‎ ‎Yet, somehow, they still make you feel like you are not doing enough. ‎ ‎I think this is one of the most painful things about caring for people. When you genuinely care, you don't always keep score. You give because you want to. You show up because you believe the person matters to you. ‎ ‎But there comes a time when you have to ask yourself, "Am I being appreciated, or am I simply being used to being available?" ‎ ‎That question can change a lot. ‎ ‎Sometimes, the best thing you can do is step back. ‎ ‎Not because you hate anyone. Not because you want to punish them. And definitely not because you want them to beg you to come back. ‎ ‎Just step back and give yourself some space. ‎ ‎If everything you offered was not enough, offer your absence. ‎ ‎There is a reason this reminds me of salt. ‎ ‎When you are eating a good meal, you probably don't stop after every bite to appreciate the salt. It is not the main thing on the plate. You may barely think about it. ‎ ‎But let the salt be missing, and you will notice. ‎ ‎That's how some people are in our lives. ‎ ‎They are always there. Always checking in. Always helping. Always making themselves available. Because they are constantly present, others can slowly become comfortable with their effort. ‎ ‎They stop noticing it. ‎ ‎And sometimes, it takes your absence for someone to understand what your presence actually meant. ‎ ‎I have learned that you don't always need to explain yourself. You don't have to keep reminding people about everything you have done for them. ‎ ‎If someone does not value your presence, then take a step back. ‎ ‎Use that time to focus on yourself. Work on your goals. Spend time with people who genuinely care about you. Protect your peace. ‎ ‎And most importantly, don't make your absence another way of seeking attention. ‎ ‎If you step away, do it for yourself. ‎ ‎Because sometimes, the lesson is not about making someone miss you. ‎ ‎But it's about realizing that you deserve to be valued without having to constantly prove your worth. ‎ ‎ ‎Thanks for Reading ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
