I talk about how amazing Hermes Agent is all the time in these posts, and with its extremely-rapid development cadence (there are now over 3,000 community contributors), it's becoming ever more amazing all the time. One excellent trend that I've been seeing is that pretty much every barrier keeping regular people from using Hermes and agentic AI is being systematically removed, one after another. Seriously, just about anyone could easily work with Hermes now.
One game-changing addition, the free-and-keyless inference provided by OpenCode, makes it possible for anyone to install and start using Hermes immediately with various capable models, on Linux, MacOS, and Windows computers (including laptops), as well as on Android and IOS phones. Also, if accounts are created on Nvidia and OpenRouter, which gives access to their inference keys, then a whole host of other capable free models become available as well.
The most most recent barrier-smashing addition to Hermes is the automatic scan and assessment of the hardware on which it is installed, and then the downloading and running of a suitable model locally on that device. That's a nifty technique that LM Studio uses as well, and it's exactly what got me up and running so quickly with local AI and Hermes Agent.
One of the excellent aspects about the Hermes agentic framework is that it is so incredibly flexible and versatile, so it can be used in an exceedingly-diverse number of very different ways, tailored to each individual. There are people who are now running and managing their businesses with Hermes, and while I'm nowhere near that level, those are fascinating possibilities nonetheless!
I've been deeply involved with working with Hermes, barring my hiatus during the summer months when I was at an impasse, since May, and I've come massively far since then, most especially when I began working with Ox Alpha/GLM5.3-Flash. My progress with Hermes continues full-speed ahead now, without pause, and it's getting more interesting by the day!
Yesterday, Thursday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, and working with Hermes, by around 3PM, giving my attention first to harvesting a rack of ripe bananas, and chopping and dumping bad/used coconuts at the upper coco bar, before diving into some photography for my posts. Once those were completed, and after a short break up at the Flow House, I organized and moved the pots in my nursery behind the Landing, in preparation for the Landing to be rebuilt. After wrapping that up, I made a quick food-supply run to Tutu's to restock Wabisabi, then after making myself some food, and collecting my leftover superfood fire coffee from the fridge in Wabisabi, I headed back to the Flow House, to work a bit more with Hermes, and to begin my evening Hive tasks. I got through all of my notifications by just after 10PM, and after one more round of working with Hermes, I went to bed, a tad on the late side again, by about 12AM. I woke up around 8:30AM, having slept fairly well (even after waking up for a short while in the middle of the night), going to prepare my superfood fire coffee in Wabisabi, then returning to the Flow House, for more work with Hermes, and to write this post. It's now just after 1:30PM, so it's an glorious time to wrap this up, so that I may attend to my few other important Hive-Blurt-'We Are Alive Tribe' tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on some photography for my posts, and then on some jungle-community/land work and tasks. 2026 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
