There is no knowledge with receive information about what you want to know about. This information can come by listening to a commentary or a documentary about that thing. It can also be gotten by reading about that thing. So, knowing what is written in the Bible can only be achieved by reading it or by listening to messages or teachings gotten from the Bible. The knowledge from the Bible can come from reading the Bible and also listening to biblical teachings.
Listening to something or reading about something can only give a fruitful knowledge or understanding if we learn it from a source that really understand what is being discussed. So, reading and listening to the teachings of the Word of God will give us the right understanding if we listen to it from a true source who is able to confer the information rightly. There are several wrong sources which are giving people inadequate or wrong understanding of the scriptures. These sources are the causes of moral perversion in our societies.
The author of every material is the one who can explain rightly what he or she has authored. So, understanding the Bible requires that we allow the Author of it to teach us what He wants us to know. The Holy Spirit is the Author of the Bible. We cannot understand it without allowing the Holy Spirit to teach us.
