Delivering the Sewing Kit to the Cosplayer in Death Stranding (Order No. 37)

Hello gamers, how are you all doing? I hope everyone is doing great! Continuing my adventure in Death Stranding and this time I'm taking on Order No. 37, delivering a Sewing Kit to a character known simply as the Cosplayer. A pretty low stakes delivery compared to some of the chaos I've been dealing with lately, no urgent timers, no clients dying on my back, no BT boss encounters in the middle of everything. Just a clean, straightforward point to point delivery. And the perfect opportunity to finally take the brand new truck out for a proper spin on a real mission and see what this thing can actually do out in the field.

The Truck Makes This Route Incredibly Easy

And let me just say right away, the truck is an absolute beast and I am already wondering how I managed without it for so long. After spending so much time on the Reverse Trike, which is fast and nimble but limits how much cargo you can carry and suffers badly on rough terrain at high speeds, getting behind the wheel of this thing feels like a completely different game. The truck handles rough terrain in a way that genuinely surprises you the first time you push it across something that would have sent the trike sliding sideways. It climbs. It pushes through obstacles. It handles rocky ground and uneven surfaces with a stability that the trike simply cannot match when you're carrying a heavy load.

At certain points on the route toward the Cosplayer's location the truck almost seemed to jump across the terrain, scaling gradients and pushing through sections that I would have had to carefully navigate on foot or reroute around entirely with the trike. The cargo capacity alone makes the comparison almost unfair. What would have required multiple trips or careful weight distribution on Sam's back fits comfortably in the truck bed with room to spare. For missions like this one where you're picking up a standard order and heading to a remote location across open terrain, the truck turns what would have been a moderate effort into something almost relaxing. Death Stranding's contemplative walking pace gets replaced with this steady, powerful forward momentum that feels genuinely satisfying to drive through these landscapes.

The Cosplayer Lives Among the Rocks With a Very Peculiar Companion

So we arrive at the Cosplayer's location and right away it's one of the more visually interesting prepper setups I've come across so far in the game. Her shelter is tucked directly into a rocky formation, surrounded by the kind of rugged natural terrain that makes you wonder how anyone decided this was a reasonable place to set up a home. But that's the thing about the preppers in Death Stranding, each one has made a very deliberate choice about where they've chosen to isolate themselves, and those choices almost always tell you something about who they are before they even open their mouth.

The Cosplayer herself is a fascinating character in the specific quiet way that Death Stranding handles its secondary cast. She's dedicated her isolated existence to recreating costumes and outfits, which in a post-apocalyptic world where survival is the baseline preoccupation of basically everyone is a remarkably human and almost defiant thing to do. The idea that someone out here in the broken remnants of America is sitting among the rocks meticulously crafting costumes says something genuinely touching about the persistence of human creativity even in the worst possible circumstances. And her companion, the particular presence she shares that shelter with, adds another layer of personality to the whole setup that makes this prepper location genuinely memorable compared to some of the more purely functional stops on the delivery route. Not every preppers story is a dramatic one and that's exactly what makes the quieter ones stick with you.

Next Mission: Recovering the Sticky Gun Blueprints From the MULE Camp

So with Order No. 37 wrapped up cleanly and the Cosplayer connected a little more to the world through this delivery, I'm already looking ahead to what comes next. And the next mission is going to be a very different kind of challenge from this relaxed sewing kit run. I'm going after the blueprints for the Sticky Gun ammunition and upgrades, which are being held inside a MULE camp. Which means no ghosting around the perimeter this time and no taking the long way around to avoid contact. This one requires going directly in and taking what I need from people who are very much going to have something to say about that.

MULE camps are always a calculated risk in Death Stranding because the moment you enter their scanner range they go from passive to extremely aggressive very quickly, and once a full camp is on you the situation can get chaotic fast between the bola launchers, the electrified pikes, and the sheer number of bodies they throw at you. But with the Stun Grenades now in the loadout alongside the Bola Gun and the Sticky Gun itself, I'm going into this with more options than I've ever had for handling human threats non-lethally and efficiently. The goal is in and out without creating a necrotization problem, which means keeping the body count at zero even if things get messy. Wish me luck gamers, because I'm going to need it. See you in the next post!
