Hoy comparto un breve recorrido por el tramo de la carretera Cumaná–Puerto La Cruz conocido como el trayecto Conoma–Pertigalete. Situada muy cerca de Santa Fe, la ruta ofrece hermosas vistas del Parque Nacional Mochima y de la Cordillera de la Costa, brindando un entorno natural impresionante para quienes disfrutan conectar con la naturaleza.
Es una vía muy transitada; desde temprano en la mañana se ven camiones y automóviles circulando por esta arteria. En Conoma se encuentra la playa llamada Conomita, seguida por el pueblo de Pertigalete, parte del municipio Guanta, donde se ubica la cementera Vencemos. La presencia de esta empresa, que utiliza como materia prima las enormes montañas de piedra caliza de la zona, probablemente explica el gran volumen de vehículos pesados en esta carretera. Las imágenes muestran parte de la infraestructura de la empresa, la montaña misma y casas situadas a los pies de la montaña. Me llamó especialmente la atención una casa de color ladrillo ubicada justo al pie de la montaña; parece como si estuviera sostenida por una sola tubería.

Today, I’m sharing a brief tour of the section of the Cumaná–Puerto La Cruz highway known as the Conoma–Pertigalete stretch. Located very close to Santa Fe, the route offers beautiful views of Mochima National Park and the Coastal Range, providing a stunning natural setting for those who love connecting with nature.
It is a busy road; from early in the morning, you can see trucks and cars traveling along this artery. Conoma is home to a beach called Conomita, followed by the town of Pertigalete—part of the Guanta municipality—where the Vencemos cement company is located. The presence of this company, which relies on the area's massive limestone mountains for raw material, likely explains the heavy volume of large vehicles on the road. The images show part of the company's infrastructure, the mountain itself, and houses nestled at the mountain's base. I was particularly struck by one brick-colored house situated right at the foot of the mountain; it looks as though it is being held up by a single pipe.

Next, you can see the mountain and other homes situated further back, followed by various signs indicating the sectors along the route. In the distance, the beautiful mountain creates a charming landscape. Traveling this road is a lovely experience, offering the chance to discover incredible scenery where beautiful beaches and mountains surround the area.
Tras recorrer varios kilómetros y contemplar los bellos paisajes que combinan montaña y playa, llegamos al pueblo de Pertigalete. En la entrada se observa un puesto de control policial y una valla publicitaria que confirma que hemos entrado en la localidad.
Junto al puesto policial se ven instalaciones de la empresa —con camiones que van y vienen y algunas de sus oficinas, mientras que la carretera está bordeada durante un largo tramo por árboles y arbustos que crean un entorno agradable. De hecho, este fue uno de mis lugares favoritos, junto con la vista del cerro y las rocas de característico tono grisáceo. Luego se aprecia la hermosa montaña y algunos camiones de carga pesada que se dirigen a la planta procesadora de cemento o regresan de ella; aunque fue un viaje breve, disfruté tomándome el tiempo para explorar esta zona y apreciar sus increíbles vistas. After traveling several kilometers and taking in the beautiful landscapes that blend mountain and beach, we arrive at the town of Pertigalete. At the entrance, you can see a police checkpoint and a billboard confirming that we have indeed entered the town.
Next to the police checkpoint, you can see a company facility—with trucks coming and going and some of its offices—while the road is lined for a long stretch with trees and shrubs that create a pleasant setting. In fact, this was one of my favorite spots, along with the view of the hill and the rocks with their distinctive grayish hue. Then there is a view of the beautiful mountain and some semi-trucks heading to and from the cement processing plant; although it was a short trip, I enjoyed taking the time to explore this area and appreciate its incredible views.
