25 Wells, One Map: Every Community That Now Has Safe Water.

A guided tour of WellsForAll’s entire body of work since 2022. Every region and every borehole is GPS-tagged and verifiable on-chain. Take your time. Six years of work compressed down to 20 seconds.
Start with the Map.
There are twenty-five gold pins on this map. There are two regions. And there is one fundamental reality: each of those gold pins represents a community that once had to travel long distances to obtain contaminated water and no longer does.
The gold pins do cluster. But they do so fairly naturally. The majority of them fall in the Ashanti Region around our headquarters city of Kumasi. The remainder fall in the Northern Region about 1000 km due north in the northern part of Ghana, which presents an entirely different topography and an entirely different set of challenges related to access to water.
Each gold pin on the map corresponds to a physical location in Ghana that includes a named community. The date when the borehole was formally commissioned; and a permanent record of that borehole exists on the Hive Blockchain. Therefore, if you want to verify any of the gold pins, you can.
Let me take you through the details:
Ashanti Region — 19 Boreholes
As I mentioned earlier, this is where we got our start. The communities around Kumasi.
Fawoade (April 2022) — Where the Story Begins
Our very first borehole. This was the well that proved that our model would actually work. All subsequent wells were made possible by this first borehole.
Early Wave (2022)
We quickly added five additional communities over the course of the next few months. These included Agona Bedomase (June 2022); Anwomaso (July 2022); Pentecost SHS at Bremang (September 2022); Jamasi Dawu (October 2022); and Agona Asamang (which received two wells). So in total we worked with five communities in one calendar year. This transitioned our personal commitment to serve others into a formalised mission.
More Momentum
Agona Asamang received two wells. Then came Chichibon; Asamankama-Offinso; Wadie Adumakase; Nsuta Kwagyei; Bampenase; Asomanya; Wurapong; and Adgiss Ntonso — each representing another community that left behind the daily search for safe drinking water.
Standout: Asenua — Well #18. By now many readers will be familiar with the committee that owns Well #18. This is that community. It is perhaps the clearest example of our model functioning as intended — a trained local committee manages the fund, maintains the records, and fully controls their access to water.
Not Just Villages
Not all of our boreholes serve just villages. Colleges and high schools have benefited greatly from having access to clean water. Examples include the College of Health at Barekese and Pentecost SHS at Bremang. Both examples illustrate how having clean water benefits educational institutions — where thousands of students benefit every single day.
Personal Favourite: Agona Jamasi
When we measure attendance at schools in the vicinity of our boreholes, we occasionally find increases in attendance in excess of 30%. Such was the case with Agona Jamasi — when we measured attendance before vs. after commissioning the well, we found a 27% increase in student attendance. So whenever someone asks us to demonstrate how providing clean water impacts educational outcomes, we say “look at Agona Jamasi.”
Northern Region — 6 Boreholes
Then we travelled north to a new environment, a new climate, and some of the most challenged communities relative to access to clean water anywhere in the world.
Tamale. The six boreholes we installed in this area of northern Ghana were constructed using the same quality standards as all of our boreholes located in the Ashanti Region.
Why the North Matters. Because of its relatively arid nature and because safe water sources are less common in this area than they are in southern Ghana, during the dry season (which lasts longer in northern Ghana than it does in southern Ghana), accessing safe drinking water becomes increasingly difficult. During the process of commissioning our Kanvili Kukuo borehole, we experienced a traditional welcoming ceremony by the elder men and women of the community — who greeted us, and the chief's ceremonial gourd. The experience reminded us that even though every one of these gold pins is located within a physically identifiable community with its own unique cultural traditions and leadership structure, each community is comprised of individuals with dignity and worth.
