There are mornings that change everything for a community. For Mantukwa, in Ghana's Ashanti Region, that morning is now on its way because Borehole #26 is fully funded, and the work is about to begin.
This one is special for us. It's the first official WellsForAll project since we grew from the Hive Borehole days into WellsForAll Africa. Same mission that started right here on Hive years ago — clean water, verified on-chain, no exceptions — just a bigger name and a wider road ahead. So it feels right that we announce it here first, with the community that watched this movement take its very first steps.
But the reason this well exists is a story worth telling properly.

💛 A Touch of Grace
Borehole #26 has been funded by The Pflaum Pfamily, and it carries a name that means everything to them.
Years ago, when their daughter Gracie was just 11 years old, she began to feel the weight of the world's needs in a way many of us never do. She didn't only want to help people. She wanted to see that she had made a difference in someone's life. From that small, brave heart grew a grassroots effort she called "A Touch of Grace," built on a belief she carried simply and completely: that everyone is important, and if you can help people, you should.
This well in the Mantukwa community continues what Gracie began. Every family that draws clean water from it will be part of her story. A girl whose compassion reached across the world and turned into something a whole community can hold onto for generations.
To the Pflaum Pfamily: thank you. You've turned love into living water. Mantukwa will carry Gracie's name with pride.
The dedication plaque at the well will read: "Gracie A. Pflaum — A Touch of Grace. Love you, Mom & Dad."

What happens now — the journey of a WellsForAll borehole
A borehole isn't a single event. It's a journey with real people at every turn. Here's the full path Borehole #26 will travel, so you can follow every step with us:
1️⃣ Fund confirmation & donor recognition We confirm the funds on-chain, honour the donor, and record their gift permanently. ✅ Done — this is where we are today.
2️⃣ Public & website announcement We tell the world the project has begun — here on our blog, across social media, and on our website's live project tracker.
3️⃣ Meeting the chief & community leaders We sit with Mantukwa's chief and elders to agree how the work will be carried out, confirm the community's readiness, and make sure this well is theirs from day one. 👉 This is our next step.
4️⃣ Survey & procurement A proper hydrogeological survey pinpoints where the water lies and how deep we drill. From that we build the itemised budget and source every material transparently.
5️⃣ Construction Drilling, casing, the mechanised pump, the storage tank, the concrete platform — the physical build that turns a plan into a working well.
6️⃣ Supervision & field delivery Our project team supervises every stage on the ground, documenting each milestone with photos and video as it happens.
7️⃣ Water testing Independent water-quality testing — because clean water has to be proven safe, not just present.
8️⃣ Training & handover ceremony We form and train a community water committee, hold the commissioning ceremony, and unveil the dedication plaque. The well becomes Mantukwa's to keep, maintain, and be proud of.
Every one of these phases will be documented right here — the good, the hard, the real. That's how we've always done it, and that's how trust is built: in the open.
