মাকাল ফল / The Makal Fruit
Bangla Version:
কুড়ায়েছিনু পুষ্প সেদিন রঙে ভরা, গন্ধহীন। লিখেছিনু কাব্য চরণ কথায় ভারী, ছন্দহীন।
বেসেছিনু ভালো যারে ছলাকলা অন্তহীন। বুনেছিনু স্বপ্ন সুখের ভেঙে দিল হৃদয়হীন।
দেখেছিনু হৃদ আঙিনায় বেজেছিল প্রণয় সুর। ছদ্মবেশী সুহৃদজনা আড়াল হলো অচিনপুর।
অঙ্গে রূপের দীপ্তি ভারী মুখে মধু চিত্তে ছল। মন ভোলানো হাসি ছিল চোখ ধাঁধানো মাকাল ফল।
ঘুচল যবে অলীক মোহ উঠল বেজে হিয়াতল। রূপের দীপ্তি ক্ষণস্থায়ী গুণ গরিমা অবিচল।
রং বিচারে মন্দ কভু গন্ধে ভারী বুনোফুল। চোখের নেশায় ভালোলাগা মন বিনিময়ে মস্ত ভুল।
ভেবে কোরো ভাব বিনিময় ভুলের মাশুল চক্ষুজল। বাহ্যরূপেই দৃষ্টি কাড়ে অন্তঃঅসার মাকাল ফল।

English Version:
I gathered flowers that day, Full of color, yet without scent.I wrote lines of poetry, Heavy with words, yet without rhythm.
I loved someone deeply, Whose deceptions were endless.I wove dreams of happiness, Which the heartless one shattered.
I saw in the courtyard of my heart, The melody of love had played.But the friends in disguise Vanished into an unknown land.
The body glowed with radiant beauty, With sweetness on the lips and deceit in the heart.There was a heart-melting smile, A dazzling Makal fruit.
When the false illusion faded away, The depth of the heart began to resonate.The glow of beauty is short-lived, But the glory of virtue stands firm.
Wildflowers might look dull in color, Yet they are heavy with sweet fragrance.Liking something just by the addiction of the eyes, And exchanging hearts, is a massive mistake.
Think before you exchange thoughts and love, The price for this mistake is tears in the eyes.It catches the eye only through its outer beauty, The hollow-inside Makal fruit.
