U.S. envoy delegation makes first visit to Kyiv…Are talks to end the Ukraine war moving again

The U.S. special envoy team, which has been mediating the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine, visited Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, for the first time.

Before visiting Kyiv, the U.S. special envoy delegation also met with President Putin in Moscow. It was reported that Russia maintained its existing position on the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine at this meeting. On the other hand, Ukraine opposes territorial concessions and is advocating for a halt to fighting based on the current front lines, so the gap between the two sides over the key issue remains wide.
The armistice negotiations, which had been led by the United States, have effectively come to a halt since the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East earlier this year.
