Greetings @Movies&Tvshows community…

Today I'm here with a great K-drama, one of the best that premiered this year. It even had a good ranking in Korea in terms of views, despite some inconsistencies in the storyline. But it was definitely good, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to talk about it, hoping you'll be encouraged to watch it.

Agent kim reactivated (김부장)….
---
Premiered in June of this year, with a total of 10 episodes, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, and starring So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, Yoon Kyung-ho, Joo Sang-wook, among others. The series falls into the genres of action, comedy, and suspense.

What's the plot about?…
---
The story immerses us in the life of manager Kim, an ordinary man who works in a modest office and whose only priority is taking care of his teenage daughter. However, this man harbors a secret, one that comes to light the day his daughter disappears without a trace.
---
What begins as a desperate search for a father quickly becomes an action-packed rollercoaster ride filled with hand-to-hand combat and underworld secrets meant to remain buried. To rescue her, Kim will have no choice but to dust off his ruthless skills as a former elite agent, facing criminal networks and old ghosts from his past (who will cause him plenty of trouble); also counting on the help of incredible mission partners and kindred spirits. Will this father be able to find his daughter? Who was he in his past life?

Personal opinion
---
This story captivated me from episode 1. Although my cousin had recommended it, I knew I'd like it because it has that well-balanced formula of action and comedy that's evident from the start. Besides wanting to know Kim's secret, which is revealed pretty quickly, there are so many other things you want to know about him that keep you watching each episode and make it impossible to stop. I feel that one of the strengths of this K-drama is the constant clash between the mundane aspects of everyday life (bank offices, school meetings, single-parent dynamics) and the brutality of high-level covert operations. Because of this, the action scenes increase dramatically, but they flow smoothly. Do you understand what I mean? In other words, the action never stops, but they also don't neglect the conspiracy and the dynamics between the characters.
---
The actors were incredible; their roles are extremely compelling, especially Kim's relationship with her friends. That relationship is the heart of the story. They understand each other's needs and are there for each other through thick and thin, and the chemistry between these three was 10/10. However, some details defied human logic, causing many of us to clash, but it's forgivable because the action sequences—which eschew excessive digital effects in favor of more visceral and physical combat—are truly commendable. This is further enhanced by the personalities of these three friends (I must reiterate, I really liked this aspect), who have remarkable characters, and their self-sacrifice for their loved ones is admirable. Although, this raises a question for me: can a past marked by violence be erased through a peaceful life?

Positive points…
---
- Choreography and Visceral Action: The fight sequences eschew excessive, exaggerated digital effects, opting instead for direct, tactical, and highly dynamic hand-to-hand combat, reflecting the protagonist's lethal training. - Team Chemistry and Dynamics: The addition of other characters with backgrounds as secret agents provides an excellent balance of tactical camaraderie and moments of subtle humor that enrich the plot. - So Ji-sub's Stellar Performance: The actor did a great job portraying the duality of a loving and present father versus a cold and calculating former agent, especially when his daughter's life is threatened. - Balance Between Drama and Adrenaline: Unlike other series in the genre that focus purely on action, as I mentioned, the story dedicates the necessary time to developing the emotional motivations and dilemmas of its characters, allowing the viewer to deeply connect with the urgency of the search.

Negative points…
---
- Use of classic tropes: The premise of the "ex-spy forced to rescue his family member" is a very well-known formula, so it may not appeal to many. - Temporal deviations in the plot: Towards the end of its run, the series introduces geopolitical subplots and secondary conspiracies that momentarily divert it from the central storyline. - Inconsistent logic regarding the survival of one of its characters.

My score…
---
8/10 Story │ 9/10 Acting │ 8/10 Sound │ 8.2/10 Stage Design │ 8.5/10 Overall
---
I consider this series a dynamic, well-executed, and visually appealing action thriller that more than meets the expectations of pure entertainment lovers. Even with its details that make you question many things, and despite its formula, you really end up liking it.
