After the death of the beloved actress Hayden Panettiere, whose work I'd like to discuss later, I discovered that she sang the main song for Cinderella III. It was a real surprise; I'd never noticed, even though I really like the song "I Still Believe." I feel that the song was a perfect way to end this third installment, which I also consider one of the best, especially as a sequel. That's why I wanted to talk about it this week, and if you didn't know it existed, I encourage you to watch it, as it's very good.

The events here don't unfold as we know them. Instead, through magic, the stepmother makes the glass slipper fit Anastasia's foot, leading to their being taken to the castle. Despite Cinderella's attempts to prove that she is the one the prince was with, the stepmother prevents her, dropping the glass slipper, which then remains with her. Now, will the prince be able to recognize his true love? Will Anastasia realize that love is not something that can be manipulated with magic?

This film felt like a love letter and farewell to a classic story that remains in the hearts of many. It's one of those films you remember with nostalgia, and it's well-made. Here, they no longer focus on Cinderella; we already saw her story in the first film and part of the second. Instead, they focused on giving more depth and personality to the other characters, especially the prince, whom many loved because he wasn't just portrayed as a lovestruck rich man. They explored other facets of him: his doubts, his convictions, and what he's capable of doing to fight for the one who offered him warmth in her hands and with whom he knew they were destined from their first encounter. We also have Anastasia, who was given a bit more development in the second installment, but here there's much more of her: her insecurities, her longings, and a beautiful redemption that makes her a very human character.

Well, Cinderella isn't forgotten either, because here we see other facets of her, which were already hinted at in the second installment: She went from being a patient victim to a heroine of action and strategy, taking the initiative, jumping from ships, infiltrating the castle, and she doesn't depend on magic to solve her problems, but on her own character. Of course, she still sought magic because it was difficult not to, but what I'm trying to say is that she didn't remain a damsel in distress. I feel that the quality of the animation far surpasses its predecessors, especially the first one. The character design is expressive, the color tones are dynamic, and the action sequences have fluid storyboarding.

Another thing, I feel that the film's greatest strength is its "multiverse" or altered timeline premise, breaking the passivity of the classic fairy tale and presenting a conflict with real stakes. The pacing is brisk, blending comedy with moments of genuine tension, managing to keep the viewer hooked by transforming a predictable story into a race against time where fate is not guaranteed.
