What would you do if your favorite idol in the world turned out to be a complete disaster in real life? Well, that's what this story is about. It follows the life of young Utage, a fanatical high school student obsessed with Tamon, the star and wildest member of the hottest boy band right now, F-ACE. To finance her addiction and buy all sorts of merchandise related to her idol, she gets a cleaning job and, by a twist of fate, ends up assigned to her beloved idol's house.

As I said at the beginning, what initially drew me in was the animation, but you really grow fond of this story, especially as they gradually introduce us to the characters' pasts, their traumas, their mistakes, their regrets, and you begin to understand why they have a dark side, or rather, the reason for their public persona as opposed to who they truly are. I feel this adds something extra to the overall story. Another thing I liked is that the captivating aspect of the plot isn't just the initial surprise of discovering Tamon's "dark side," but how the narrative uses housework as a metaphor. Utage isn't just going to dust or clean Tamon's kitchen; she's going to clean up his existential crises, his imposter syndrome, and his constant fear of disappointing the audience. This helps you understand how important it is to have someone by your side who accepts you as you are and is your unconditional support.

Now let's talk about the characters, mainly Utage, as the main female character in this story: Utage is an incredibly entertaining heroine because she breaks the mold of the shy shojo protagonist; she is practical, energetic, hardworking, and has the mindset of a disciplined follower. For her, supporting Tamon's self-esteem is as important as keeping her floors spotless, although sometimes it feels like she crosses the line into the ridiculous and overly devoted, her empathy is truly pure and sincere.

Clearly, the story itself addresses something quite complex and recurring in the entertainment world: the pressure of perfection. It showcases the paradox of the modern artist, forced to maintain an impeccable persona (Side A) while hiding their human insecurities (Side B). They must maintain an almost perfect image for their fans, and it's truly sad, as this pressure can be fatal for many. Furthermore, it makes you reflect on the gap between the idealized image a fan constructs of their idol and the real person behind the screen, which can be chaotic and quite worrying nowadays. For example, there are fans who don't want their idols to be with other people, and so on. It invites you to reflect on the fact that we shouldn't idealize people, because we can't judge a book by its cover.
