Yesterday morning, when I woke up, I decided to go for a run and cover 6.5 km, combining two very different settings: I ran the first 2 km through the city, and the last 4 km at the stadium. It was a special run because during those first few kilometers, my wife joined me, and we took the opportunity to chat about plans to visit our family. Those moments of conversation, while my body gradually wakes up, are undoubtedly one of the best gifts that running with someone else brings.

When I arrived at the stadium, the scenery changed completely. I left the city’s asphalt behind to jog on the soft grass, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the exercise in a more peaceful way.

However, it wasn’t all slow and relaxed, as I decided to pick up the pace a bit during the last kilometer. That small effort made me feel alive, reminding me that running isn’t just physical exercise, but also a way to connect with myself and my body.

When I finished, I spent a few minutes stretching, feeling how each muscle appreciated the movement and the careful pause. These simple routines, which we sometimes overlook, are essential for preventing injuries and for ending the activity with a sense of well-being.

Running isn’t just about covering kilometers; it’s about living little stories, sharing moments, and learning to listen to what our bodies and minds are telling us.
