Learning to Listen to My Body in Training

Training has been really slow and ineffective lately. I’ve been struggling with weights I would typically move with ease, and it bothers me a bit. Right now, I’m trying to figure out the root cause.
Underfeeding Carbs are not your enemy. You need them for energy, and that energy translates into the effort you put into your workout. Eat more, eat enough, and eat clean. It’s kind of funny because this is me talking to myself as much as I’m sharing advice with anyone else.
Sleep I haven’t gotten 6–7 hours of sleep in a long time, and it’s showing, not just in my performance, but on my face too. Rest is where you actually grow, not in the gym. Take your sleep and recovery seriously.
Deload I only recently found out that I’m due for a deload week. A deload week is when you reduce the weights you lift by about 50%. It gives your body time to rest and recover so you can come back stronger and push harder again.
Don’t be like me.
Yesterday’s session was alright, though. I was able to use the overhead press machine and lift 80kg for 7 reps, then finish with rope tricep pushdowns. Highly recommend.
Thank you for reading. Till next time. God bless.
